Present: Cllr G Melbourne, Cllr N Taylor, Cllr G Everard, Cllr J Dring, Cllr S Spry, Dis Cllr S Lawrence, Dis Cllr A Whittle

1. Chairman’s Opening Address
2. Apologies for absence and acceptance of any reasons given Cllr Keys – Prior Commitment
3. Declarations of Interest-councillors must declare interests in planning or any items on the agenda. Cllr Spry declared that Mr Richards is her son.
4. Updates from District Councillors: -
• 09/11/2024 – Convex Traffic mirror – will speak to planning about this.
• 04/09/2024 - Pet signs for either end of the village – Cllr Melbourne & Dist Cllr Whittle – will also speak to planning about this.
5. 01/03/2025 - Co-Option – Rhys Richards This was Proposed by Cllr G Melbourne and Seconded Cllr G Everard
6. Notes of the last meeting held on 11th December 2024 to be approved as the minutes. Proposed by Cllr Spry and seconded by Cllr Melbourne and they were resolved to be true and accurate minutes and were signed by the chairman.
7. Updates from Councillors –
• 05/11/2024 - Dog Paddock. – Update – Cllr Taylor – Now have proposal and some pricing and it was passed to the Chairman. The Dog Paddock would be 42 x 20 metres and have a 6ft high fence.
• 06/11/2024 – Play Park Equipment – Update – Cllr Taylor – There can be a grant from the lottery for this and will look int it further.
• 02/03/2025 - Cllr Melbourne - Donation from village Hall. Having received a very generous £2000 from the village hall after discussions it was agreed that £500 would go towards the S.I.D. and the rest to other causes. Proposed by Cllr Everard and Seconded by Cllr Spry.
• 03/03/2025 - VE Day celebrations? Clerk to look into it and look at veday80.org.uk.
8. Report on matters outstanding –
• 01/10/2024 - Stickers for rubbish bins – 50 stickers have arrived and now at the village hall.
9. Financial Matters & Clerk’s Report
• Bank Statement and Spreadsheet Balance – Paperwork too be signed for January February and March. Proposed by Cllr Melbourne and seconded by Cllr Spry.
• 04/03/2025 - Village Hall Bookings – update – The council is now booked into the village hall for their meetings until October 2026.
• 08/12/2024 - Rospa Inspections –Update need to wait until slide is replaced. Three quotes have now been obtained and it was agreed and proposed by Cllr Everard and Seconded by Cllr Spry that we would go for the middle quote as this is the only one that repairs the playground surface once disturbed.
• 05/03/2025 - New laptop required urgently – As soon as precept has arrived the new laptop to be purchased. Clerk to look into prices. Proposed by Cllr Melbourne and seconded by Cllr Spry
• 06/03/2025 - Lottery funding – We can get a grant for play equipment for the community Cllr Taylor will look into this and clerk to speak to other Clerk to find out if we can obtain any other grants.
• 07/03/2025 - The clerk has now passed her ILCA to CILCA course, the next course is FILCA which is also £120 plus VAT and I have until to December to complete the course. Again, I will do the course in my own time if the council pays for the course as per our agreement when I did the last course again the course will be £120 plus VAT . The was agreed by all and proposed by Cllr Melbourne and seconded by Cllr Everard.
• 03/11/2024 Slide Repairs – Clerk has contacted a number of companies some didn’t come back to me but we have received three, the middle quote by team sports and play is the best quote as they will repair the flooring as part of the quote, we as there would be an additional charge with the other quotes. Their quote is £1764.00. Have contacted the insurance company and they have asked for the photos again and the three quotes which has been sent.
• 09/12/2024 - Letters to local businesses – All have been posted only one response, No one offered to help with any donations.
• 08/03/2025 - Gov. email address costs etc. Grant for first year £100 per year thereafter.
• 09/03/2025 – Clerk asked if there could be a meeting in January or February due to payment of invoices and it was agreed tat a finance committee would be created and that would consist of Cllr’s Spry, Taylor and Melbourne.
• 10/03/2025 - Bulb competition – the prizes will consist of cash prizes

12/03/2025 - Postage, stationery, signage and training for Clerk £ 54.36

15/03/2025 - Cllr Graham Melbourne - Xmas – Sweets etc. and Sign £49.99
16/03/2025 - Cllr G Everard - £30.98 for petrol.
All were proposed by Cllr Richards and seconded by Cllr Spry.
17/03/2025 – Zebra crossing was raised by Cllr Traylor – clerk updated we are getting one by the bus stop but that will not be until much later.
18/03.2025 – Council Awards – Cllr Taylor asked if we were going to be doing this – clerk will look into it.
